Tweed RunEVENTSIt was a while ago when Tweed Run celebrated its 5th successful annual run, half a thousand participants young and old, all dressed in traditional or modern tweed fashion and their fine bicycles.
It was a very last invitation, I grabbed whatever I could find in my wardrobe that were tweed and vintage-looking formal wear, and deemed cycle-able and comfortable throughout duration of the bike ride.
We cycled along initial planned routes ushered by dedicated teams of marshals, from iconic streets of Central London; Holborn to Marylebone High Street, Regent Street, Saville Road, Piccadilly Circus, Houses of parliament, Trafalgar Square and King's Cross.
The busy streets were packed with tourists and shoppers greeted us with roaring applauses which made the ride enjoyable and fun. I'm looking forward to participate again next year or in another city.
How to create the Cycle-chic look:
A tailored shirt paired with neutral-coloured wool or tweed blazer and a midi poofy skirt, sleek flat pumps, accessorized with vintage style silk scarf, a hat and vibrant leather gloves. A few touches of Folli Follie accessories are needed: Keys bracelet, Logomania necklace, Hector watch, Legomania wristlet and a pair of sunglasses. Don't forget a plush vintage style hybrid bike to complete the cycle-chic look.
